Happy new year from Festival folk HQ! January saw us gearing up for a busy year and we've spent some time in the rehearsal room in the studio, refining our repertoire and perfecting our live show to get ready for the year ahead. We think you will especially like the Britney number that Jim rocks on the banjo...!
With dates quickly filling up the diary, we're looking forward to being the festival style wedding band for lots of lovely couples in the future. So we thought we'd take this opportunity to introduce ourselves to you!
Meet the band
James is (Da Bass)…playing around London with his jazz trio and getting ready for some shows with up-and-coming singer/songwriter Michael Baker as well as working with a number of new students, getting people prepared to follow in his footsteps! When he gets away from the bass he’s working hard to improve his PB on Streatham Common…
Jim had a great time playing guitar for the world-famous Sleeper Sounds Studio, who were having their Robbie Williams wrap up album party. It was a disco themed party, and Jim was joined on stage by the legendary Tommy Blaize, the lead singer on BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing and Guy Chambers on keys.
Jim has also performed with Sony BMG artist Earl, a stunning new jazz musician (check her out, she's awesome!) at St. Pancras Old Church, London.
Jamie has been preparing for an originals tour in February whilst spending the quieter period of January trying to grow a beard. Unfortunately he looks less hipster and more homeless. Until then he'll mostly be hitting the rehearsal and teaching his 6 month old son how to get more food in his mouth and less on his face!
Jon has been on a UK tour playing drums for Circus VIII which has been getting some great reviews along the way. He was also the drummer to be recorded in the new studios at ICMP in London for a new young male artist (still top secret!) which will debut live in Paris as part of a singer songwriter competition the male artist won in 2016... watch this space!!
If you would like to book Festival Folk for your wedding or event, do get in touch with us - we'd absolutely love to play for you!
Until next time,
